Built with recruiters, for recruiters
“Everyone needs a haircut, everyone needs a job, but we can’t use machine learning to improve haircuts.”
After travelling the globe and working as a bus driver, Dean achieved a PhD in computing then joined a startup called Plusnet. He wrote the billing and CRM platform, became CIO and helped grow the business from a handful of employees to over 700, through IPO then exiting via a sale to BT.
Pondering life after Plusnet, Dean was looking for a real world problem which could be addressed by artificial intelligence and hit on the recruitment industry as being ripe for disruption. And so TribePad was born.
From the outset getting the culture right at TribePad was a priority – flexible working and opportunity creation are key. Dean is married with three daughters and spends what little free time he has getting his backside handed to him in Taekwondo bouts.
Dan’s a software developer through and through, having worked at several global development houses after graduating in Computer Science. After working on various interactive BAFTA award-winning TV platforms, including the Red Button for the BBC, Dan moved to Sheffield and joined Plusnet. There he headed up the development team and was responsible for scaling up the ‘Workplace’ platform to handle more than 500,000 customers.
Running his own development business, Dan created numerous websites and applications including an HR on-boarding solution for a public sector client and several ‘gig economy’ mobile apps. He joined TribePad full time in 2011 and is responsible for running the business day to day. He is married with two children and when not in front of a screen, can be found running marathons, playing pool and hobbling round the Tough Mudder course.
