The recruitment team at Sodexo worked closely with TribePad to help shape the first version of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). It was built with the recruiter in mind which has led to an incredible impact on Sodexo’s recruitment team. “Within the first year of using TribePad, we increased internal mobility and staff retention by 35% and also saw a 40% drop in agency costs almost immediately. Before TribePad, Sodexo struggled with their ATS due to the slow speed and ‘clunkiness’ of the software. The recruitment team became frustrated with the amount of work required to achieve even the simplest of tasks. Every time a job was posted it needed to be created from scratch, which wasted almost one FTE (full-time equivalent) per month. Furthermore, Sodexo knew that they had thousands of job seekers’ details in the database but no effective way of finding them. This resulted in Sodexo frequently paying job boards and agencies to attract talent that may have already been in their system.
It seemed that it wasn’t only recruiters who were struggling with the ATS. The recruitment team identified high candidate drop-off rates as a result of a poor mobile experience, a confusing interface, and the inability for recruiters to tailor the application process. Sodexo noticed a 25% application conversion rate with their existing ATS. Candidates couldn’t even change their own passwords without contacting the recruitment or admin team.
Sodexo required an ATS that wasn’t a ‘one size fits all solution’, a system that enabled the recruitment process to be streamlined and was simplistic for both recruiter and candidate. They needed a system that gave the team the ability to report across all aspects of the recruitment process, including marketing channels, to track ROI. Most importantly, the candidate experience needed to be improved in order to promote a more a positive brand image.
