The Church of England shortlisted for the OnRec Awards

Tags: PR and News

We’re heading to the OnRec Awards on the 7th March with The Church of England, which is up for the category, ‘Newcomer of the Year’. The Church embraced Tribepad’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) in 2017 and it has helped transform the organisation’s entire recruitment and advertising process, with an incredible 119% increase in candidates and a huge positive impact in terms of candidate diversity.

Reformed recruitment

The Church of England is a not-for-profit religious organisation that employs more than 2000 staff, over 20,000 Ordained Clergy Post Holders and at any one time more than 20,000 volunteers. Each year, the church makes around 2,000 new hires.

Before using Tribepad ATS, all of The Church’s recruitment processes were carried out on paper and notice boards – it had no digital platform for advertising positions or processing applications. They were starting from scratch, which is why the newcomer category fits the organisation so well.

We worked closely with The Church to implement an ATS and job board platform, which we customised and launched in less than three months. The new system and processes revolutionised recruitment for candidates and recruiters.

By pulling all of its different threads together in one place, The Church’s recruitment has been streamlined and improved from top to bottom. There are three specific areas that the team focused on when this journey began.

The move from paper to digital was always going to be a big change, but with the help of our support team and Tribepad ATS’ great user experience, The Church’s staff picked things up in no time. They embraced the new technology and were able to begin posting jobs and hiring talent quickly and far more efficiently than ever before.

The Church’s success has also been partly down to the way they’ve used the analytics and reporting features built into Tribepad ATS. With access to real-time data and easy-to-read reports and graphs, The Church’s team of recruiters have been able to gain key insights about their recruitment processes. They’ve then used that knowledge to make informed improvements.

Finally, The Church also asked us to build a standalone job board platform called ‘Do Something You Believe In’. It’s for people and organisations who want to do something for the common good and it’s the first job board of its kind in the UK.

The Church of England’s nomination at the Onrec awards comes from making bold and innovative changes to its recruitment. Since launching in 2017, The Church has used its ATS to process thousands of applications via a more streamlined, cost-efficient workflow. More than 30% of job searches have come through mobile and the team has seen a marked increase in the diversity of candidates applying for roles.
